Signing Day: The nation’s top 10 recruiting classes

1. Arizona: In addition to 7-footer DeAndre Ayton, the No. 1 player in the country, Sean Miller added three other top 100 talents in 6-7 Ira Lee, point guard Alex Barcello and shooting guard Brandon Randolph. Could the Wildcats finish the class off with wing Lonnie Walker, a top 20 player who is uncommitted?

2. UCLA: A year after landing current freshman phenom Lonzo Ball, coach Steve Alford has another stacked class. Point guard Jaylen Hands out of San Diego is the headliner of this four-man class. But it will get a big boost if, as expected, Indy prep star Kris Wilkes, a top 25 player in the country, commits soon.

3. Washington: Michael Porter, an ultra-smooth 6-7 scorer on the wing, is one of the nation’s truly elite prospects. The four-man class also includes a pair of locals from Seattle –– top 50 guard Daejon Davis and top 75 player Jaylen Howell from Seattle.

4. Auburn: Coach Bruce Pearl now has put together three straight talented classes at this “football school.” His top prize, 6-10 Austin Wiley, is an Auburn legacy and one of the top 20 players in the country. Top 50 talent Davion Mitchell and four-star forward Chuma Okeke are also on board.

5. Xavier: This talented five-man class should help keep Chris Mack’s program among the top 25 in the country. The best class in the Big East includes top 100 players Paul Scruggs and Naji Marshall, a pair of perimeter stars.

6. Louisville: There are multiple top 100 talents and four-star recruits in this four-man class, but the gem of the class is 6-10 Malik Williams. The Fort Wayne, Ind., native is a long, agile, defensive presence and has an enormous upside.

7. Texas: A trio of top 100 national recruits are headed to Austin, including 6-8 Jericho Sims, 6-8 Royce Hamm and shooting guard Jase Febres.

8. Oregon: Troy Brown, a dynamic 6-7 guard and top 20 player in the country, is the star of this class. Both 6-4 V.J. Bailey and 6-6 Abu Kigab are top 100 talents.

9. Western Kentucky: Yes, the Hilltoppers, out of Conference USA, have a top 10 class after hitting the jackpot with two top 50 talents: 7-footer Mitchell Robinson, one of the top 10 players in the country, and 6-4 shooting guard Josh Anderson.

10. Michigan State: Sparty goes big! Jaren Jackson, a 6-10, 220-pound power forward, is a top 20 player in the senior class, while 6-8, 260-pound Xavier Tillman is among the top 100.
